Woodlands House

Woodlands House is a new and exciting residential home that aims to provide a warm, loving and caring environment for children with learning difficulties within a safe and comfortable home. The Woodlands House Team aim to establish a positive relationship with partner agencies in order that they can demonstrate measurable outcomes for children living within the home.

Our philosophy, we believe is very simple, we aim to provide an environment in which children can change their own narrative about themselves by developing their self-worth, self-confidence, and their positive self-identities through meaningful relationships with adults around them.

The home provides a safe and stable environment where the children can live and grow, enabling them to achieve their full potential. This is achieved through careful planning of individually tailored programmes to meet their needs and promote their welfare.

Woodlands House is set up to accommodate three children aged up to 18 years. Careful consideration will be given to match young people’s individual needs with a carer’s strengths, experience, and qualifications. The residential use or activities in the home will not be a nuisance to neighbours. There are three parking spaces located at the drive on the side of the property, this would provide parking for two to three workers ordinarily present during the day.

Open Day

We will be having an open day in the next few months and will be inviting you along so that you can meet us as we recognise that it will take more than just the support offered by staff at Woodlands to get good outcomes for the children. Rather it will be the community working together to help these children to begin to have positive experiences that will aid them in their journey to acquire the independent living skills that we hope will enable them to become good and positive citizens within society.

We are yet to have a firm date but once we have that, we will let you know.

If you wish to contact us, please email us at the below email address and we will do our best to come back to you as soon as possible: info@compassionhomes.co.uk

Meet the team:

Quality Assurance manager:

“I am excited to be involved in the work that Compassion Care doing in local communities as it gives me the opportunity to apply the knowledge, skills and experience acquired through my social work with the knowledge and skills that I have learnt within my Legal Practice Course.

I have over 14 years experience of working in child protection, looked after and children with disabilities teams with over six years of that experience as a manager.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated my ability to provide excellent support, services and guidance to the children I have worked with as well as the organisations that I have represented. I understand the impact of social inequalities and the manner in which they can manifest in societal disadvantages and how these difficulties can be further affected by organisational limitations. As such I am a strong advocate for new and creative ways of supporting families and increasing independence and active participation in improving outcomes for children.

My unwavering support for children and families has brough me here. I want to be in a position where I would like to be able to promote high standards of care and support for families by ensuring that the child and their needs are given the optimum priority and opportunity in order that we can create and develop positive plans for children that are pragmatic but also aspirational and realistic.

My CV will be able to give you some insight into the types of teams and boroughs that I have only worked within all of which have received ‘Outstanding’ in their inspections.

I look forward to working with you.”

Responsible individual:

“One of my passions is working with and caring for others. Therefore, my chosen career path was social work and as a result, I pursued a degree in the field. I have extensive experience of working with vulnerable persons, mainly adults with learning disabilities (PAMS trained) and children with autism. Furthermore, I am experienced and trained in 1 to 1 counselling for domestic violence perpetrators (Preparing Men for Change Program); in the same context, I occasionally help mediate the relationship between parents and children. I am also trained to interview and work with children experiencing trauma or abuse (ABE trained).

As a result, I believe I can say that my passion for the field of psychology has started from youth and developed over the years as I advanced along my career path and completed more training, and currently undertaking a master in psychology. I am particularly interested in ‘Lifespan Development’ and ‘Behavioural Neuroscience’, mainly due to the nature of my work and passion for the subject. Calm and dedication define me, and I look forward to bring these qualities in working with children and improving their lives.

I am happy to working with you.”
